Norwich Man Jailed After Police Discover Over 1,000 Indecent Images of Children

Monday, 26 October 2026 at 21:17

Norwich man jailed for three years and eight months after officers uncovered over a thousand indecent images of children online.

A Norwich man has been jailed for three years and eight months after police discovered more than 1,000 indecent images of children on electronic devices at his home.

Aaron Nobbs, 37, of Yarmouth Road, appeared at Norwich Crown Court on Friday 23 October, having previously admitted six counts of making indecent images of children and four breaches of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

The court heard that officers from Norfolk Police's Public Protection Unit discovered the material during monitoring visits carried out because Nobbs was already a registered sex offender.

During a visit in March 2024, officers examining his mobile phone discovered an indecent video involving a child.

A subsequent search uncovered another electronic device containing further illegal material.

Digital forensic examinations identified hundreds of images and videos, including Category A material, the most serious classification.

Further offences were discovered during another police check in June 2025, when officers found additional indecent images on a device Nobbs had failed to declare.

Investigators also established that he had breached restrictions governing his internet use and electronic devices.

Nobbs was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison, including punishment for breaching a suspended sentence.

Norfolk Police said every indecent image represents the abuse of a child and reaffirmed its commitment to monitoring registered sex offenders and protecting vulnerable young people.v
