The ground floor of Norwich's Millennium Library has been closed after a large glass entrance door shattered, injuring a 16-month-old girl and a member of staff.
A baby and a library worker have been injured after a large glass entrance door shattered at the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library in the city centre.
The incident happened on Wednesday 21 October at the library, which is located inside The Forum.
A 16-month-old girl was sitting in her pushchair when glass from the door fell onto her, causing a cut to her stomach.
Her mother, Olivia Taylor, said the incident had been frightening but confirmed that her daughter was doing well after being checked by a doctor.
A member of library staff also suffered minor cuts when the glass shattered.
The main entrance to the ground floor library has been cordoned off, with Norfolk County Council confirming that the area will remain closed until further notice.
Events scheduled for the ground floor on Wednesday were postponed, although the library's first and second floors remain open to visitors.
The incident comes just months after the Millennium Library reopened in July following a £1.3 million refurbishment.
However, the county council has confirmed that the glass doors involved were installed when The Forum originally opened in 2001.
Library staff are working to clear the damaged glass and arrange repairs, although it remains unclear when the ground floor will reopen.
Norfolk County Council has apologised for the disruption and thanked visitors for their patience.
