A 16-year-old boy has been convicted of attempting to murder a fellow pupil during a knife attack at a Norfolk school.
A 16-year-old boy has been found guilty of attempted murder after stabbing a fellow pupil at Thorpe St Andrew School near Norwich.
The teenager, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was convicted following a trial at King's Lynn Crown Court, where jurors heard details of the attack on 11 March 2026.
The boy, who was 15 at the time, took a kitchen knife into school before stabbing a 15-year-old girl in the back.
Prosecutor Christopher Paxton KC told the court that the defendant had developed an obsessive and dangerous fascination with killers and killing.
Jurors heard that the teenager had written disturbing notes about his intentions, including a list of potential victims and references to his hatred of women.
The attack prompted an immediate lockdown at the school and a major response from armed police.
The injured girl was taken to hospital for treatment and discharged the following day.
The defendant had previously admitted wounding with intent and possessing a bladed article on school premises but denied attempted murder.
However, the jury returned a unanimous guilty verdict after deliberating for just under four hours.
The teenager has been remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced on 18 December 2026.
The judge warned that he faces a substantial custodial sentence.
