Industrial action at Norwich Airport has ended after air traffic control staff accepted a new pay offer following months of disruption.
Industrial action at Norwich Airport has officially ended after air traffic control staff voted to accept a new pay offer, bringing a long-running dispute to a close.
Workers represented by the Prospect union had been involved in industrial action since August over pay and working conditions.
The dispute resulted in several disruptions to airport operations, including cancelled flights and temporary closures which affected holidaymakers and business travellers.
Some passengers were forced to make alternative travel arrangements, including being transferred by coach to London Stansted Airport after flights were cancelled.
The union had argued that air traffic controllers at Norwich were being paid significantly less than comparable staff elsewhere in the UK, while also raising concerns about maternity and paternity benefits.
Industrial action initially involved staff working strictly to their contracts, refusing voluntary overtime and withdrawing additional goodwill arrangements.
The dispute escalated when staff staged a strike in August, forcing the airport to close to flights for a day.
Norwich Airport has now confirmed that Prospect members have voted to accept the latest offer following further negotiations.
Airport management welcomed the decision, saying an agreement had been reached after constructive discussions with the union.
The financial terms and other details of the settlement have not been made public.
The resolution brings an end to months of uncertainty for passengers and airport operators.
