Norwich Airport air traffic controllers have accepted a new pay offer, ending months of industrial action and disruption to flights.
A pay dispute involving air traffic controllers at Norwich Airport has been resolved after union members accepted a new offer from airport management.
Staff represented by the Prospect union had been taking industrial action since August in a disagreement over pay and employment conditions.
The dispute caused significant disruption to airport operations, including flight cancellations, temporary closures and changes to travel arrangements for passengers.
Some holidaymakers were forced to travel to alternative airports after scheduled flights from Norwich were affected.
Prospect had argued that its members were receiving salaries below comparable rates elsewhere in the aviation industry and had raised concerns about maternity and paternity leave arrangements.
The industrial action included employees working strictly to their contracts, refusing voluntary overtime and withdrawing additional goodwill arrangements.
A 24-hour strike in August also resulted in the airport closing to flights.
Following further negotiations, union members have now voted to accept a revised offer, bringing the dispute to an end.
Prospect welcomed the agreement but expressed disappointment that industrial action had been necessary to achieve a resolution.
Norwich Airport also welcomed the outcome, confirming that an agreement had been reached following discussions with union representatives.
The financial terms of the settlement have not been disclosed.
The resolution brings an end to a period of uncertainty for passengers and staff at the regional airport.
