A Norwich man has been charged following an alleged knife threat during an argument on Sheringham High Street at weekend.
A 21-year-old man from Norwich has been charged following an alleged incident involving a knife in Sheringham town centre.
Norfolk Police were called to High Street at around 6.40pm on Saturday 17 October after receiving reports of an argument during which one man allegedly threatened another with a knife.
Officers attended the scene and began searching the surrounding area following reports that the suspect had left the location.
A man in his twenties was subsequently stopped by officers on Station Road, a short distance from where the incident was reported.
He was arrested and taken into police custody for questioning.
Harvey Bartle, 21, of Temple Road in Norwich, was later charged with threatening a person with a bladed article and affray.
He appeared before Norwich Magistrates' Court on Monday 19 October, where magistrates remanded him in custody.
Bartle is now due to appear at Norwich Crown Court on Monday 16 November 2026 for the next stage of court proceedings.
Norfolk Police have confirmed that a knife has been seized in connection with the investigation.
The charges follow police inquiries into the reported confrontation on Sheringham High Street, which took place during the early evening.
The allegations have not yet been determined by the court, and criminal proceedings remain ongoing.
