Dereham Man Jailed Over Cocaine Supply

Thursday, 15 October 2026 09:54

A Dereham man has been jailed for 56 months after admitting involvement in cocaine supply dating back to 2022 offences.

A Dereham man has been jailed for four years and eight months after admitting involvement in the supply of cocaine.

Derek Brooks, 42, of Sandy Lane, was sentenced at Norwich Crown Court after previously pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of the Class A drug.

Police identified Brooks during an investigation into drug dealing in Dereham.

Officers executed a warrant at his home in Sandy Lane on 30 June 2025, where they discovered cash and drugs.

Cocaine was found hidden underneath a mattress.

Brooks was arrested and charged but police say he continued offending while on court bail.

In September 2025, he was arrested again after officers found him in a parked car with a packet containing white powder.

Tests later confirmed the substance was high-purity cocaine with an estimated street value of around £4,200.

Brooks subsequently admitted drug supply offences dating back to 2022.

He has now been sentenced to 56 months in prison.

Norfolk Police described Brooks as a persistent drug dealer whose offending had caused harm in Dereham.

The force is encouraging anyone with information about suspected drug dealing or exploitation in their community to report it to police.
