A man has appeared in court charged with murdering GP Hannah Cain, who was found dead at her Dersingham home.
The husband of a Norfolk GP has appeared in court charged with her murder.
Mark Cain, 45, of Fern Hill in Dersingham, appeared before Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 7 October.
He is charged with murdering his wife, 45-year-old Hannah Cain, who was known professionally as Dr Hannah Terry.
Emergency services were called to the couple’s home in the early hours of Sunday 4 October, where Dr Cain was found unresponsive in an upstairs bedroom.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The court heard a post-mortem examination had identified a blunt-force injury to the right side of her head, along with an injury which could be consistent with compression of the neck.
Dr Cain worked as a GP at Grimston Medical Centre and was also part of a pool of doctors available to provide medical care to members of the royal family when required.
Cain spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth during the short hearing and was not asked to enter a plea.
He has been remanded in custody.
Cain is due to appear at King’s Lynn Crown Court on Thursday 8 October.
Norfolk Police says specialist officers continue to support Dr Cain’s family.
