Man Charged With Murder Of Dersingham GP

A man has been charged with murdering 45-year-old GP Hannah Cain after she was found dead at her Dersingham home.

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a GP at a home in Dersingham.

Norfolk Police says 45-year-old Mark Cain, of Fern Hill, has been charged with murdering Hannah Cain, who was known professionally as Dr Hannah Terry.

Officers were called to a property in Fern Hill by the ambulance service shortly after 2.20am on Sunday 4 October.

Hannah, 45, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A murder investigation was launched by detectives from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team and a man was arrested.

Police were initially granted additional time to question the suspect before Mark Cain was charged on Tuesday afternoon.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 7 October.

A Home Office post-mortem examination was carried out on Monday.

Police say the cause of death remains pending further investigation.

Specialist officers are continuing to support Hannah’s family, who have asked for privacy.

Hannah worked as a GP at Grimston Medical Centre and was also known locally through her work in aesthetic medicine.

The investigation remains ongoing.
