Olly Murs will headline a new four-day music festival on Great Yarmouth beach when On The Beach launches next summer.
Olly Murs has been announced as the first headliner for a new four-day music festival on Great Yarmouth beach.
On The Beach will run from Thursday 17 June until Sunday 20 June 2027, bringing a series of major outdoor concerts to the town’s seafront.
Murs will perform on Friday 18 June, with further headline artists and supporting acts due to be announced.
The singer says returning to Great Yarmouth brings back childhood memories of family trips to the seaside and he is looking forward to performing on the beach.
On The Beach launched in Brighton in 2021 and has since hosted artists including Fatboy Slim, Madness, Moby, Chase & Status, Royal Blood and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.
Great Yarmouth will become the festival brand’s first location outside Brighton.
Organisers say the Norfolk event will initially have a capacity of around 5,000 people, approximately half the size of the Brighton shows, with potential to grow in future years.
Tourism leaders say the festival could bring significant benefits to hotels, restaurants, bars and other businesses across the resort.
Murs has released eight studio albums, five of which reached number one in the UK, and has sold more than two million tickets across his touring career.
Tickets for his Great Yarmouth show are now on sale.
