A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead at a property in Dersingham.
Norfolk Police were called to a house in Fern Hill shortly after 2.20am on Sunday 4 October by the ambulance service.
A woman aged in her forties was found at the property and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after officers arrived.
A man, also in his forties, was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Detectives from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team have launched a murder investigation.
Police say enquiries remain at a very early stage as officers work to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
A Home Office post-mortem examination is being carried out to establish a medical cause of death.
A police cordon remains in place at the property while investigative work continues.
Norfolk Police is appealing for anyone who believes they may have information which could assist detectives to come forward.
The force has not released the identity of the woman and no further details about the circumstances surrounding her death have yet been confirmed.
