Norwich City supporters and staff are continuing to pay tribute to former majority shareholder and honorary life president Michael Wynn Jones.
Tributes are continuing at Norwich City following the death of former majority shareholder and honorary life president Michael Wynn Jones.
Mr Wynn Jones died peacefully at home on Monday 28 September at the age of 85.
He and his wife Delia Smith became deeply involved with the Canaries after joining the board in 1996 and went on to serve as majority shareholders for 26 years.
During that time the pair helped steer Norwich through periods of financial difficulty, promotions, relegations and five rises to the Premier League.
They stepped back from majority ownership in 2024 as Mark Attanasio’s Norfolk Holdings took control and were subsequently appointed honorary life presidents.
Supporters and club staff have been signing a book of condolence at Carrow Road, while a minute’s silence has also been held in his memory.
Fans have described Mr Wynn Jones as a hugely important part of the club’s identity and a familiar figure at matches both home and away.
Norwich City says it will work with his family on plans for a permanent tribute to his life and contribution at Carrow Road.
The club has also invited supporters to make donations to St Elizabeth Hospice, whose community nursing team cared for him.
