Community groups across Broadland and South Norfolk can apply for grants of up to £500 to support vulnerable residents locally.
Community organisations across Broadland and South Norfolk can now apply for grants to help vulnerable residents through the winter.
The councils’ Winter Pressures Grant offers funding of up to £500 for projects supporting people struggling with colder weather and the rising cost of living.
Eligible projects could include warm community spaces, Christmas hamper schemes, free or subsidised food and drinks, activities tackling isolation and supplies such as blankets, toiletries and baby essentials.
Applications are open to community groups, faith organisations, parish and town councils, trusts, Community Interest Companies and Charitable Incorporated Organisations.
The councils say they are particularly interested in projects which bring people together, provide welcoming and non-judgemental spaces and help communities support vulnerable residents.
Previous grants have supported schemes including community cafés, lunch clubs, food parcels, warm spaces and Christmas hampers.
Applications will not be assessed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Instead, all eligible submissions will be considered together once the application window closes.
Groups have until midnight on Friday 30 October to apply.
Successful organisations are expected to be informed by 6 November, allowing projects to begin supporting residents as winter approaches.
