Nearly £4 Million to Help Norfolk Residents Facing Financial Hardship

Monday, 26 October 2026 at 21:21

Norfolk County Council is investing nearly £4 million in community organisations to help residents overcome financial difficulties and prevent crises.

Norfolk County Council has announced an investment of almost £4 million to help residents experiencing financial hardship and support those at risk of falling into crisis.

The funding will be distributed to 26 voluntary and community organisations through the council's Crisis and Resilience Fund.

The scheme aims to provide practical assistance to people struggling with the rising cost of living, unexpected expenses and other financial pressures.

Organisations receiving funding will be able to offer services including debt and money management advice, support with finding employment and help for unpaid carers.

The investment is intended to strengthen existing community services while ensuring residents can access advice before financial difficulties become more serious.

Council leaders say early intervention is particularly important, helping people tackle problems before they lead to debt, housing insecurity or other challenges.

The Crisis and Resilience Fund is part of a wider government-supported programme designed to help low-income households cope with financial emergencies while improving their longer-term stability.

The council is working with local charities and community groups to deliver support to people who may otherwise struggle to access specialist advice.

Residents experiencing financial difficulties can find out more about available assistance through Norfolk County Council's website and local support organisations.
