Independent inspectors praise improvements at Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, awarding good ratings in eight of ten key performance areas.
Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service has been praised for significant improvements following its latest inspection, receiving good ratings in eight out of ten areas assessed.
His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services examined how effectively the organisation protects the public, responds to emergencies, manages resources and supports its workforce.
Inspectors highlighted progress in several important areas, including fire prevention, emergency response and the training provided to firefighters and other staff.
The findings mark another important step forward for the service, which has been working to address weaknesses identified during previous inspections.
The report recognises improvements in how the organisation identifies risks and prepares to protect communities across Norfolk.
However, inspectors also identified areas where further work is required.
These include strengthening arrangements for responding to major incidents involving multiple emergency services and improving the collection of equality information about the workforce.
The findings suggest that while considerable progress has been made, more needs to be done to ensure the service is fully prepared for complex emergencies and continues developing an inclusive working environment.
Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service says it welcomes the inspection findings and remains committed to making further improvements.
The organisation says it will continue working on the recommendations while maintaining its focus on protecting residents, businesses and communities throughout the county.
