A Norwich man has been found guilty of murdering his estranged wife Tania Williams near her Thorpe St Andrew home.
A 61-year-old man has been found guilty of murdering his estranged wife near her home in Thorpe St Andrew.
Raymond Williams was convicted at Norwich Crown Court of killing 49-year-old Tania Williams following a 17-day trial.
Emergency services were called to Catherine Gardens shortly before 11.45pm on Saturday 17 January after reports that a woman had been seriously injured in the street.
Tania, a mother of four, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination found she died from hypovolaemic shock caused by blood loss from a wound to her neck.
The court heard Tania had been on a night out in Norwich city centre before returning home. Prosecutors said Williams, from whom she had been separated, had spent part of the evening trying to find her at venues around the city.
Williams denied murder throughout the trial.
Jurors at Norwich Crown Court found him guilty following several weeks of evidence examining the events leading up to Tania’s death.
Her family previously described her as a woman of great faith who was passionate about her four children and was known for her kindness and generosity.
Williams has been remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced in September.
