Passengers using Norwich Airport face possible disruption after air traffic controllers announced a 24-hour strike ahead of the bank holiday.
Passengers using Norwich Airport are being warned of possible disruption ahead of the August bank holiday weekend because of planned strike action by air traffic control staff.
Members of the Prospect union are due to stage a 24-hour walkout on Friday 28 August as part of an ongoing dispute over pay and working conditions.
Prospect says the strike could leave the airport unable to operate on the day unless an agreement is reached beforehand.
The union began action short of a strike on Monday 17 August, including working strictly to contract, refusing non-contractual overtime and withdrawing goodwill.
Prospect says air traffic controllers at Norwich are paid below comparable rates elsewhere in the industry and is also calling for improvements to parental leave arrangements.
Norwich Airport says negotiations aimed at resolving the dispute are continuing and it remains committed to reaching an agreement through constructive talks.
For now, passengers due to travel are being advised to check in as normal and to keep checking with their airline for the latest information about individual flights.
The planned walkout comes immediately ahead of the summer bank holiday weekend, one of the busiest periods of the year for leisure travel.
