Teen Canary Cycles 120 Miles For Charity

Tuesday, 18 August 2026 16:14

A teenage Norwich City fan is cycling from Carrow Road to Millwall to raise vital funds for Bungay Community Support.

A 16-year-old Norwich City fan is swapping the supporters’ coach for two wheels this weekend as he cycles more than 120 miles from Carrow Road to Millwall for charity.

Ranulph Bacon is setting off from Norwich on Thursday and plans to complete the journey over three days, arriving at The Den in south London in time to watch the Canaries take on Millwall on Saturday 22 August at 12.30pm.

And the challenge began in a brilliantly unexpected way.

A Norwich City fan account asked supporters to tag a player and say what they would do if the player replied. Ranulph tagged Canaries forward Mohamed Touré and promised that, if he responded, he would cycle to Norwich City’s first away league game of the season.

Touré replied – and Ranulph suddenly had a very long bike ride to organise.

He has now turned the challenge into a fundraiser for Bungay Community Support, a local charity providing food, practical help, advice and social activities to people in Bungay and surrounding villages.

The charity is itself fundraising to secure a new permanent home after learning that its current base on Wingfield Street is to be sold.

Ranulph initially set himself a £2,000 fundraising target, with donations already reaching more than £1,400 ahead of the ride.

So when Norwich kick off at The Den on Saturday lunchtime, one young Canary in the away end will certainly have worked harder than most to get there.
