Work Starts On New Bradwell School

Tuesday, 11 August 2026 08:45

Construction has begun on a new primary school in Bradwell as thousands of new homes increase demand for local school places.

Construction has started on a new primary school in Bradwell as housing growth increases demand for school places in the area.

Homefield Primary School is being relocated to a purpose-built site on Chaplin Road, providing modern facilities and additional capacity for families living in Bradwell and the surrounding communities.

Norfolk County Council says significant housing development is planned across the wider area, with schemes potentially delivering almost 2,000 new homes and increasing the number of children requiring local school places.

The new Homefield Primary School is being designed to meet that growing demand while providing pupils and staff with a modern learning environment.

The purpose-built campus will replace the school's existing accommodation and form an important part of the infrastructure being developed alongside new housing.

Construction is now under way, with work expected to continue throughout the coming year.

The new school is scheduled to welcome its first pupils in September 2027.

Norfolk County Council says investment in additional education capacity is essential to ensure local services keep pace with the growing population and that families moving into new developments have access to school places close to home.
