Residents Call For Stadium Car Park

Friday, 31 July 2026 08:08

People living near Carrow Road want Norwich City to open a stadium car park on non-match days to ease parking pressures.

Residents living close to Norwich City's Carrow Road stadium are calling on the football club to open its South Stand car park on non-match days to help ease parking pressures.

People living on Carrow Road and Cousins Road say it has become increasingly difficult to find parking spaces as more households own two or more vehicles. They believe allowing local residents to use the club's car park when matches are not taking place could provide a practical solution.

The proposal was discussed during talks between residents and Norwich City Football Club in May, with campaigners hoping the idea will help reduce congestion on surrounding streets.

Supporters of the plan say the South Stand car park is largely unused for much of the week and could offer valuable additional parking without affecting the club's matchday operations.

At this stage, Norwich City Football Club has not publicly commented on the proposal or indicated whether it is considering making the car park available outside matchdays.

Residents say they hope discussions with the club will continue as they look for ways to improve parking for people living in the area.
