Plans to change the provider running Norwich's walk-in centre have been abandoned following a review of the procurement process.
NHS Norfolk and Suffolk Integrated Care Board has confirmed that the procurement exercise covering the Norwich Walk-in Centre and other primary care services has been scrapped, with no new contracts being awarded.
The walk-in centre is based at Rouen House on Rouen Road and is currently operated by Norfolk Primary Care CIC, providing treatment for people with acute minor illnesses and injuries.
Under the previous plans, another provider had been lined up to take over the service as part of a wider procurement exercise covering several health services in Norwich. That process has now been abandoned following a review after concerns were raised about the proposed changes.
The ICB says existing arrangements will now continue until at least 30 September 2027, providing certainty for patients and staff while longer-term plans are considered.
The decision means people using the Norwich Walk-in Centre should see no immediate change to who operates the service.
Health bosses have not yet made any decisions about what will happen once the extended arrangements come to an end.
