Norwich Rapist Jailed For Seven Years

Monday, 27 July 2026 11:22

A Norwich man has been jailed after being convicted of multiple serious sexual offences against a woman following a trial.

A man has been jailed for seven years after being convicted of a series of serious sexual offences against a woman in Norwich.

Twenty-nine-year-old Manwar Hussain was found guilty of two counts of rape, one count of attempted rape and one count of assault by penetration following a trial.

At sentencing, Hussain was jailed for seven years. The court also imposed an indefinite restraining order, preventing him from contacting the victim.

Following the case, the victim said she had finally found justice and hoped the outcome would help her move forward after her ordeal.

Norfolk Police praised the victim for her courage in supporting the investigation and giving evidence throughout the court process, acknowledging that reporting sexual offences and seeing a case through to trial can be extremely difficult.

The force has encouraged anyone who has experienced sexual violence or abuse to come forward, stressing that specialist officers and support services are available to help victims throughout the criminal justice process.

Hussain will now serve his prison sentence, with the restraining order remaining in force indefinitely to provide ongoing protection for the victim.
