Air traffic control staff at Norwich Airport will begin industrial action next week, potentially causing disruption and airport closures.
Air traffic control staff at Norwich Airport are set to begin industrial action next week as a dispute over pay and working conditions continues.
Union members will begin working to contract and withdrawing goodwill from August 17, meaning staff will only carry out duties covered by their contracts and will refuse to work overtime.
The union has warned that the action could result in disruption to flights and potentially periods when Norwich Airport is unable to operate, if sufficient air traffic control cover cannot be provided.
Unlike a full strike, staff involved in the action will continue reporting for their contracted shifts, but the airport will no longer be able to rely on employees volunteering for additional hours or duties.
Norwich Airport says discussions are continuing with staff representatives and that it remains committed to finding a resolution.
Airport bosses say they want to avoid disruption to passengers and maintain normal operations wherever possible.
Passengers travelling from Norwich Airport from August 17 are being advised to keep an eye on information from their airline and the airport as the dispute develops.
Further talks are expected ahead of the start of the industrial action.
