How Hill House is appealing for £15,000 to repair its ageing heating system before children return for winter residential stays.
A much-loved Norfolk Broads education centre is appealing for help to raise £15,000 for urgent repairs to its heating system.
How Hill House, near Ludham, welcomes schoolchildren for residential visits throughout the year, giving young people the chance to learn about wildlife, conservation and life on the Broads.
But the historic building's ageing heating system now needs significant work before colder weather arrives. The How Hill Trust says repairs are needed to pumps, seals and boilers, some of which are around 30 years old.
Without the work, the charity is concerned it may not be able to accommodate groups of children safely and comfortably through the winter months.
The Trust is hoping to raise £15,000 towards the repairs and has already received more than £3,000 in donations.
How Hill has introduced generations of Norfolk children to the unique environment of the Broads, making the appeal particularly important to families who remember visiting the centre themselves while at school.
The charity is now asking local residents, former visitors and businesses to support the fundraising effort and help ensure children can continue staying at How Hill throughout the year.
Donations can be made through the How Hill Trust's current heating appeal.
