Bus Network Boost For Norfolk

Wednesday, 5 August 2026 18:09

New bus routes and more frequent services are being introduced across Norfolk to improve public transport from the end of August.

Bus passengers across Norfolk are set to benefit from a series of new routes and more frequent services when First Bus introduces major timetable changes from 30 August.

The improvements include new direct links to Norwich Airport and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, making it easier for passengers to reach two of the county's busiest destinations without changing buses.

Extra evening and Sunday journeys will also be introduced on a number of routes, providing more travel options for people commuting, shopping or enjoying leisure activities outside normal daytime hours.

Among the biggest changes is an increase in frequency between Wymondham and Norwich, where buses will run as often as every 15 minutes at busy times.

Passengers in and around Great Yarmouth will also see revised services, with changes designed to improve reliability and better match local travel demand.

First Bus says the new network has been developed in response to passenger feedback and changing travel patterns, with the aim of making bus travel more convenient and encouraging more people to choose public transport.

Full details of the new timetables and route changes will be available before the changes come into effect on 30 August, allowing passengers time to plan their journeys.
