Spire Norwich Hospital has been rated good by the Care Quality Commission following an unannounced inspection of hospital services overall.
Spire Norwich Hospital has received an overall rating of “Good” following an unannounced assessment by the Care Quality Commission.
Inspectors assessed the independent hospital in Colney between 4 and 24 March, examining surgery, outpatient services and diagnostic imaging.
The CQC rated the hospital Good across all five of its key areas: safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
Inspectors found patients were treated with kindness, empathy and compassion, with staff working together to provide person-centred care.
Patients reported positive experiences and said they felt listened to and involved in decisions about their treatment.
The CQC also found patient areas were safe, visibly clean and well equipped, while staffing levels were generally good.
Improvements were identified in areas including safeguarding training and the recording and storage of consultant notes.
Outpatient services, which had previously required improvement in some areas, have now been rated Good.
Inspectors did identify some areas where processes could be strengthened, including aspects of risk and incident management.
The latest assessment report was published in July.
Spire Norwich Hospital provides services including surgery, diagnostic imaging, outpatient appointments and treatment across a range of medical specialties.
