Eight Norfolk police officers were added to the national barred list during 2025/26, down slightly from nine the previous year.
Eight Norfolk Police officers have been barred from policing following disciplinary proceedings during the last financial year, according to new figures released by the College of Policing.
The figures cover the period between 1 April 2025 and 31 March 2026 and show a slight decrease from the nine officers barred during the previous twelve months.
Of the eight Norfolk officers added to the national barred list, two were dismissed while still serving with the force.
The remaining six were dismissed following disciplinary proceedings that continued after they had resigned.
The national barred list records officers who have been dismissed from policing and prevents them from returning to employment in police forces across England and Wales.
Nationally, 757 police officers were added to the list during the financial year, an increase from 735 the previous year.
Of those, 334 were dismissed while serving, 397 following resignation and 26 after retirement.
The College of Policing says the list is intended to protect the public, maintain professional standards and ensure officers dismissed for serious misconduct or other qualifying reasons cannot return to policing elsewhere.
Since the barred list was introduced in December 2017, a total of 41 Norfolk Police officers have been added.
Across England and Wales, the total number of officers barred during that period has reached 3,591.
