Six Norwich Parks Retain Green Flags

Wednesday, 15 July 2026 17:32

Six Norwich parks have retained prestigious Green Flag status, with three also recognised for the way their historic features are managed.

Six parks and green spaces in Norwich have once again been recognised among the best managed in the country.

Eaton Park, Waterloo Park, Jenny Lind Park, Mousehold Heath, Heigham Park and Kett’s Heights have all retained Green Flag Award status for 2026.

The international award, managed by Keep Britain Tidy, recognises parks and green spaces that are welcoming, safe and maintained to a high standard.

Three of the Norwich sites have also received Green Heritage Site Accreditation. Eaton Park and Waterloo Park retained the honour, while Kett’s Heights achieved it for the first time.

The heritage award recognises the way historic features are managed, protected and promoted for visitors.

Norwich City Council has praised the work of its parks team, volunteers and community groups, saying their efforts play a major role in keeping the city’s green spaces attractive and accessible.

The latest awards come as the Green Flag scheme celebrates its 30th anniversary, with a record 2,391 parks and green spaces across the UK receiving the accolade this year.

The council says Norwich’s parks continue to provide important spaces for recreation, wellbeing and connecting with nature, while the latest recognition demonstrates the high standards being maintained across the city.
