Norwich will mark Remembrance Sunday with a city centre service, two-minute silence and parade to Norwich Cathedral this weekend.
People across Norwich are being invited to take part in Remembrance Sunday commemorations this weekend, honouring those who lost their lives in conflict and remembering the sacrifices made by serving and former military personnel.
The annual service will take place on Sunday 8 November, beginning at 10.30am at the War Memorial outside City Hall on St Peters Street.
Serving and former members of the armed forces, civic dignitaries, emergency service representatives and members of the public will gather for the ceremony.
Reverend Canon Edward Carter from St Peter Mancroft Church will lead prayers and wreath-laying before The Last Post marks the beginning of the national two-minute silence at 11am.
Following the service, a parade will leave City Hall at approximately 11.05am, travelling through Gaol Hill, London Street, Opie Street, Castle Meadow, Agriculture Hall Plain, Upper King Street and Tombland.
The procession will arrive at Norwich Cathedral, where a further remembrance service will begin at 11.40am.
Several city centre roads will be closed between 7am and midday, including St Peters Street, Bethel Street and part of St Giles Street.
Access to The Forum and St Giles car parks will be maintained, although drivers should expect diversions.
The Lord Mayor of Norwich, Councillor Karen Davis, says the commemorations provide an important opportunity to honour those who served and reflect on their sacrifices.
All members of the public are welcome to attend.
