A man in his 70s has died after being seriously injured by cattle while walking at Felbrigg Hall in Norfolk.
A man in his 70s has died after being seriously injured by cattle at Felbrigg Hall near Cromer.
Emergency services were called to the National Trust estate at around 11.45am on Monday 13 July following reports that a member of the public had been injured while walking in the parkland.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
Norfolk Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident alongside the Health and Safety Executive, which examines serious accidents connected to workplaces and land management.
The National Trust said it was shocked and deeply saddened by the death and offered its condolences to the man’s family and friends.
Felbrigg Hall, Garden and Estate was closed following the incident while emergency services and investigators carried out their work. Visitors are being advised to check the National Trust website for the latest opening information before travelling.
The estate covers around 520 acres and includes parkland, woodland, walking trails, a lake and a walled garden.
Police have not released any further details about how the incident happened, and the investigation remains ongoing.
