Greater Anglia trains are beginning a new look as Great British Railways branding is rolled out across publicly owned rail services.
A new look has been unveiled for trains serving Norfolk and the wider East of England as Great British Railways branding begins appearing across publicly owned services.
Greater Anglia transferred into public ownership in October 2025 and is now managed by the government-owned DfT Operator Limited.
Under the latest changes, existing Greater Anglia branding will gradually be replaced by a new GBR Anglia identity. The Stansted Express name will remain but will transition to GBR Stansted Express.
The rollout forms part of government plans to create Great British Railways, a publicly owned organisation intended to bring responsibility for passenger services and railway infrastructure together under one system. Legislation to formally establish GBR is progressing, while publicly owned operators are already beginning to adopt the new national branding.
Greater Anglia says the move towards a more integrated railway will focus on improving reliability and making stations easier to use and access.
The new branding will be introduced gradually rather than replacing the appearance of every train at once, with changes made alongside planned maintenance and repainting work to reduce costs and disruption.
Passengers will therefore continue to see the familiar Greater Anglia identity alongside the new GBR branding during the transition.
