Norwich City midfielder Luke Towler has been shortlisted for Premier League 2 Player of the Month following three impressive goals.
Norwich City youngster Luke Towler has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award following a series of impressive performances for the club's Under-21 side.
The 19-year-old midfielder is one of eight players shortlisted for the October award after scoring three goals in two matches against West Ham United and Derby County.
Towler played a starring role in Norwich's 4-2 victory over West Ham at the Avant Training Centre on 16 October.
He opened the scoring after just two minutes before adding his second goal late in the match, helping the Canaries complete an impressive comeback after falling 2-1 behind.
The midfielder also provided an assist during the victory.
He continued his excellent form ten days later, scoring again as Norwich claimed a dramatic 4-3 away victory over Derby County.
His performances have earned recognition alongside talented young players from clubs including Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, Sunderland, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest.
Premier League 2 provides an important platform for promising young footballers to develop their skills and gain competitive experience before potentially progressing into senior football.
The eight nominees have been selected by the Premier League Football Development Panel, which will also choose the winner.
The result is expected to be announced during the week beginning 9 November.
Towler will be hoping his performances are enough to secure the award and further recognition for Norwich City's academy.
