Norwich will host its first city-centre half marathon since 1993 next May, with a 13.1-mile route past major city landmarks.
A new half marathon is being added to Norwich's sporting calendar next year.
The inaugural EPIC Norwich City Half Marathon will take place on Bank Holiday Monday 3 May 2027.
Organisers EPIC Norfolk say it will be the first half marathon to run through Norwich city centre since 1993.
The 13.1-mile road race will start and finish on Red Lion Street before taking runners through the streets of the city.
The route will pass several Norwich landmarks, including Norwich Castle, Norwich Cathedral, Norwich Market and the Theatre Royal.
Organisers say the event is intended to complement rather than compete with Run Norwich, the established 10k race which takes place during the summer.
EPIC Norfolk says half marathons have become increasingly popular as a challenging but achievable target for runners who may not want to take on a full marathon.
The race will have a four-hour cut-off and entrants must be at least 17 years old.
Additional Norwich Park & Ride services are also planned from the Airport and Thickthorn sites on race morning.
Organisers hope the event will attract runners and spectators while establishing another major annual sporting event in the city centre.
