A Norwich man has been charged with six shop thefts and four alleged breaches of a Criminal Behaviour Order citywide.
A man has been charged with six shop theft offences following an investigation by Norfolk Police.
Jamie McNeilly, 46, of no fixed address, is also accused of four breaches of a Criminal Behaviour Order.
Police say officers arrested a man in his forties while on patrol in Distillery Square in Norwich on Tuesday 22 September.
He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning before charges were brought.
The six theft charges relate to reported incidents at shops across Norwich, including premises on Dereham Road, Aylsham Road, Hellesdon Road, Hall Road and Fifers Lane.
Items including confectionery, meat and alcohol were reported stolen during the alleged offences.
McNeilly has also been charged with four counts of breaching an existing Criminal Behaviour Order.
He was remanded in custody following the charges ahead of an appearance at Norwich Magistrates’ Court.
Norfolk Police has been working with retailers across the city to tackle repeat shop theft and other offences affecting businesses, staff and customers.
The charges remain allegations and the case will now proceed through the courts.
