North Norfolk District Council is calling on the government to intervene over plans to close Sheringham sixth form multi-academy trusts as low student numbers make it financially unviable.
The local council has warned teenagers could face 60 to 90 minute journeys and high transport costs if it shuts.
The council has asked the Department for Education to pause and review the decision.
