Norwich City Council says tests have confirmed there's no asbestos in pipe lagging at the Anglia Square demolition site.
The council says the checks were carried out after rumours circulated online.
Officials say the site had already undergone inspections and asbestos removal before demolition began.
Work on clearing the area will continue as part of plans to build new and affordable homes.
