Tonnes of bark catch fire at a property in Weston Longville

Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service have been responding to a large fire at a commercial property in Weston Longville.

The fire is involving thousands of tonnes of bark which are alight. A spokesperson for the Fire Service said the incident had taken a toll on resources and at the height of the fire they needed nine pumping appliances, one aerial ladder platform, two water carriers and a control unit at the scene.

Alan Jaye from Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said "I have no idea how long the incident may last, but as far as I am aware, we are making really good progress extinguishing the fire." He added it is expected to "burn for some time"

Local residents have been thanked for their patience and understanding as firefighters continued to deal with the incident.
