A man has been jailed for more than five and a half years for supplying drugs in and around Great Yarmouth.
Akeem Long, 33, of Baker Street, Gorleston was sentenced at Norwich Crown Court today (Tuesday 23 September) after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing to being concerned in the supply of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of cannabis and failing to comply with a Serious Crime Prevention Order.
Long was arrested on Tuesday 24 June 2025 after a visit from the Safer Neighbourhood Team, who were conducting checks on him as the subject of a Serious Crime Prevention Order (SCPO).
When officers arrived at his address they found Long to be in possession of cannabis and cocaine. They also found a number of mobile phones - items which breached his SCPO.
He was arrested and subsequently charged and recalled to prison for breach of his licence conditions.
Today at Norwich Crown Court he was sentenced to 2045 days (five years, seven months and seven days) imprisonment.
Following sentencing Inspector James Makepeace of Great Yarmouth and North Norfolk Neighbourhood Policing Team said, "This result reinforces our ongoing message that those who choose to deal drugs in Great Yarmouth will be brought to justice.
"The fact that Akeem Long is now behind bars means he can no longer cause harm to people in our community.
“Our priority remains protecting the vulnerable and ensuring the safety of our communities.
"Drug supply not only endangers public health but also fuels a culture of violence — something Norfolk Police is firmly committed to preventing.”
