Teen arrested in connection with fail-to-stop collision

A teenager is in custody following a fail-to-stop collision in Great Yarmouth.

He has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a collision, failing to report a collision, driving without insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and possession of drugs Class B and C.

He has been taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning where he remains.

The arrest follows an incident on Gapton Hall Road at around 5.20pm on Wednesday 10 September 2025 when a white Audi was involved in a collision with a pedestrian and failed to stop at the scene.

The pedestrian, also a teenager, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Sgt Callum Walchester said: “We are in the early stages of what is a complex investigation, and we make a plea to anyone with information to come forward and contact us.

"We are aware that information is being shared in the local community, but it is important that people provide their accounts directly to police officers.”
