New charity tackling childbed poverty in Norfolk

A new not-for-profit tackling childbed poverty has delivered its first beds to families in Norfolk.

Rise and Shine Norfolk, founded by a mum of three, Sarah Kenny, was set up after she became aware of children sleeping on floors or broken mattresses.

The charity Barnardo's estimates 11% of UK children have shared a bed or slept on the floor in the past year.

So far, the group has helped seven families and is supported by the Benjamin Foundation.
