It will be the end of an era for Anglia Square in Norwich as long-awaited demolition work will start next week.
The site from the 1960's was due to be revamped by a housing developer in a £300 million project. That fell through, and the site was purchased by Norwich City Council last year.
Norwich City Council is proceeding with cleating the site after agreeing a £5.9m deal with DSM Demolition.
Hoardings will continue to be erected around the site and Richard Jones from DSM Demolition said "We will be temporarily closing the public entrance to Anglia Square and its public walkway while we carry out demolition works. We will be communicating with local residents and businesses and giving regular updates on our programme."
