Remembrance Sunday 2026 Services

Communities across Norfolk and North Suffolk will gather this weekend to remember those who have lost their lives in conflict.
Remembrance Sunday falls on Sunday 8 November this year, with services, parades and wreath-laying ceremonies taking place across the Broadland area.
In Lowestoft, the annual commemoration will take place at the War Memorial on Royal Plain. The parade will begin at Royal Green before arriving at Royal Plain for the service, which starts at 10.50am. A two-minute silence will be observed at 11am before wreaths are laid.
In Great Yarmouth, a Remembrance Sunday service is due to take place at St George’s Park from around 10.30am, with Great Yarmouth Brass among those supporting the commemoration.
Dereham’s Remembrance Parade will leave Cherry Tree Car Park at 10.48am before reaching the War Memorial for the two-minute silence at 11am and the laying of wreaths. The parade will then continue to St Nicholas Church for a Service of Remembrance.
Temporary road closures will be in place in Dereham between approximately 10.45am and midday, with some bus stops around Market Place also affected.
In Loddon, an open-air service and parade will result in temporary restrictions around Norwich Road, Bridge Street, Church Plain and High Street between approximately 10.30am and 11.30am.
There will also be a parade in Thorpe St Andrew, where Yarmouth Road between Harvey Lane and Thunder Lane is expected to be closed to traffic between around 10am and 1.15pm.
In Norwich, the Field of Remembrance at Norwich Cathedral remains in place until Sunday 8 November, allowing people to leave personal tributes and crosses in memory of those who served.
Across North Suffolk, East Suffolk Council is also suspending parking charges in selected council car parks to support local Remembrance events. Free parking will include Lowestoft and Oulton Broad from 8am until 1pm, with arrangements also in place in Southwold, Beccles, Bungay and Halesworth.
People attending services are advised to allow extra time for their journeys because of local parades, road closures and changes to parking and public transport.
Further individual town and village commemorations will also take place across Norfolk and North Suffolk throughout Sunday.
