The Great Norwich Duck Race

The Great Norwich Duck Race takes place at Norwich Riverside on Sunday 12 July 2026, bringing one of the city’s quirkiest charity events back to the River Wensum.

Around 10,000 rubber ducks are expected to take part, with the splashdown listed for 2pm. The event is organised by 1st Norwich Sea Scouts, in partnership with Norwich City Council, as part of the Lord Mayor’s celebrations.

Ducks cost £2 each to enter, with prizes listed for the fastest ducks including £500 for first place, £250 for second and £125 for third. Money raised will support scouting in and around Norwich, the Lord Mayor’s charity and the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity.

People do not need to attend to enter, as winners will be contacted after the race.
