Marti Pellow and Heather Small Head to Norfolk

Two of the biggest voices in British pop music are heading to Norfolk next year, as Wet Wet Wet legend Marti Pellow and M People star Heather Small prepare for a spectacular open-air concert at Norfolk Showground.

The two chart-topping singers will take to the stage on Friday 14th May 2027, bringing decades of much-loved music to an evening promising plenty of nostalgia, unforgettable hits and singalong moments.

Marti Pellow will headline the concert, with Heather Small appearing as a very special guest and opening the evening.

Marti Pellow – Four Decades of Hits

As the unmistakable voice of Scottish pop group Wet Wet Wet, Marti Pellow became one of the most recognisable singers of the 1980s and 1990s.

The group enjoyed enormous success with hits including Wishing I Was Lucky, Sweet Little Mystery, Goodnight Girl, Angel Eyes and, of course, Love Is All Around.

Their recording of Love Is All Around, featured in the 1994 film Four Weddings and a Funeral, became one of the biggest British chart successes of the decade, spending an incredible 15 consecutive weeks at number one.

Wet Wet Wet achieved three UK number-one singles and four chart-topping albums, establishing themselves as one of Britain's most successful pop groups.

Since leaving the band, Marti has enjoyed an extensive solo career, releasing albums, touring internationally and appearing in major musical theatre productions.

The Norfolk performance comes during another major year for the singer, who is also preparing to celebrate 40 years in music with his No Marti No Party UK tour later in 2027.

Fans attending the Showground concert can expect a celebration of the music that made him a household name, alongside material from his solo career.

Heather Small – The Powerhouse Voice of M People

Joining Marti for the evening will be Heather Small, whose distinctive, powerful voice helped define the sound of British dance and soul music throughout the 1990s.

As the lead singer of M People, Heather enjoyed huge success with dancefloor favourites including Moving On Up, One Night in Heaven, Sight for Sore Eyes and Search for the Hero.

The group also won the prestigious Mercury Music Prize in 1994 for their album Elegant Slumming.

Heather subsequently established a successful solo career, releasing the uplifting anthem Proud, which has become one of her signature songs.

Renowned for her remarkable vocal performances and infectious stage presence, Heather will open the Norfolk concert with a set celebrating her musical career.

The combination of Heather's uplifting dance anthems and Marti's enduring pop classics promises an evening that will appeal to music fans who grew up with their records, as well as a new generation discovering their music.

A Big Weekend of Live Music in Norfolk

The concert will take place at Norfolk Showground on Dereham Road in New Costessey, just outside Norwich.

It will also kick off a busy weekend of music at the venue.

The following day, Saturday 15th May, Norfolk Showground will host the Love the 90s Festival, featuring Claire Richards from Steps, Eternal, Artful Dodger, Ultra Naté and a host of other familiar names.

On Sunday 16th May, the venue will welcome the Road to Nashville outdoor country music festival, creating three consecutive days of live entertainment.
